Olympic Aquatics Centre – As the only new permanent building constructed specifically for the 2024 Games – together with the extensive green public space and the new bridge connecting the stadium to the Stade de France and the rest of Paris – the Olympic Aquatics Centre represents a significant investment in the future of the Saint-Denis district. This innovative, and award-winning project will deliver an unforgettable Games experience and promises to leave a lasting legacy for the neighbourhood and beyond. We are proud to announce that one of the pools in this complex is equipped with EVA lighting.
Architecture and Sustainability
Designed by Dutch architectural firm VenhoevenCS and the French firm Ateliers 2/3/4/, the centre stands out for its distinctive wooden structure and curved roof. Supported by the world’s largest concave wooden structure, the roof spans 90 metres and includes over 4,600 m² of solar panels, significantly contribute to the building’s energy efficiency.
Facilities and Capacity
During the Olympic Games, the Aquatics Centre accommodated 5,000 spectators and hosted events such as water polo, diving, and synchronised swimming. The centre features four swimming pools: a 50-metre competition pool, a diving pool, a 25-metre training pool and a recreational pool. After the Games, the spectator capacity will be reduced to 2,500 seats and the centre will become a multifunctional sports complex for the local community, with facilities such as a restaurant, gym, climbing wall and basketball and football courts.
Bassin Ludique and EVAsubaqua
The recreational swimming pool, Bassin Ludique, has been designed with a multifunctional approach, providing space for both relaxation and recreational activities. Sustainability and innovation are central themes – and EVAsubaqua fits seamlessly within this concept. With its energy-efficient technology, EVAsubaqua not only creates a pleasant atmosphere, but also ensures a safe and optimally illuminated swimming environment.
