In January 2025, Swimming Cente De Welle in Drachten opened its doors, making it the largest swimming center in the Northern Netherlands. The modern facility offers opportunities for both recreational and elite swimming, including a 50-meter competition pool with a movable floor, a leisure pool with a wave system, and a 100-meter slide.
Advanced Lighting Solutions
To optimize the experience and functionality of the pools, high-quality LED lighting solutions from EVA Optic were selected. RGBW LED underwater lights were installed in the leisure pool, creating a dynamic and colorful atmosphere. These lights offer the possibility of creating different lighting scenes, thus contributing to a unique swimming experience for visitors of all ages.
EVA LEDline luminaires are mounted above the competition pool. These luminaires are known for their high light output and energy efficiency, which is crucial for sports facilities where optimal lighting is crucial. The building is constructed from sustainable materials, including a green roof that contributes to biodiversity and reduces heat stress. In addition, additional solar panels and Heco tubes were installed on the roof, and bio-based batteries are used to store electricity and heat, representing an important step towards energy conservation.
